Side panel thickness

Can you tell me the thickness of sheet steel required for the side "bulkhead" at the driver / passengers outer elbows? It's the panel at the front end of the trailing links.

Thanks

Andrew,

I don't have my book anymore, but all sheet steel on my car is 16swg (1.6mm).

Also - mines IRS.

Do you mean the panel that sits right next to the trailing arm brackets or the outer "decorative" panels? If the trailing arm panel, 16 swg is fine, thicker if you wish a little extra support for the brackets.

I used a 40mm wide piece of 3mm steel to support the brackets and filled the rest in with 16 gauge.

16 gauge on mine.

If you mean this panel:

Then that and the bulkhead behind the seats in mine are 1mm ali. The floor is 1.5mm ali.

Thanks all,
I did mean "the panel that sits right next to the trailing arm brackets". 16 swg it is then.
