I have attached a picture of a project that a group 15, 16, 17 and 18 year students have been working on at our "bog standard" comprehensive school. I think they've done ok. Perhaps there is hope for the future of engineering after all. Ok I know it is not a locost just thought that you lot would appreciate their work more than most Rescued attachment dragster3 009.jpg

Looks very good.

We supply dataloggers to schools. One in Twickenham uses our equipment for their mpg challenge monitoring engine revs, temperature, drive shaft rpm etc. etc.

I believe there is huge engineering talent in this country. Its just that all the making of the products is moving abroad. We have a hell of a job getting electronic components made in this country. We still do and hope to continue but when you can buy DVD players for less than £20 the writing is on the wall.

Just my 2p.

Cheers

Mark

where europe can compete with in its country's is with:
- service and servie contracts
- works to measurement..

Sow an electronic solution for 1 client..

the DVD is 20pounds because they make millions of it...and then the price drops..//falls...

Tks

yes it is a greenpower car. One of the formula catpult ones (ie drag racer it is geared to do 0 - 60 in about 8 or 9 seconds) does it in theory but in pactice who knows.

good to see that the educators are focussed on what is important
