Does anyone have any archive pics of their method of mounting the handbrake on the 'side' of the tunnel?
I am sitting with a pair of Allegro cables and an Escort M2 handbrake lever
Hope this post helps everyone on the conversion route too...
Thanks to everyone here who's posts i have used and abused in the great quest for finishing the 'beast in the garage'...

Not really what you want but I'm using a Cavalier handbrake lever this time and it bolts to the side of the tunnel.
IIRC, MGBs and Migets have neat tunnel side handbrakes

Which year of cav and where would suitable cables come from for use with the cav handbrake?
ive got some midget levers in the for sale section, nice and chromet and fit on the pass side
'H' reg 2.0 saloon. It was my mate's engine donor for his Mac1. It has a long threaded bar for adjustment so I should be able to adapt it to fit several types of cable.
MG Midget lever , Marina 1 into 2 cable.......

Toyota MR2 handbrake is what I used, mounted to side of tunnel. Toyota first cable, then Allegro cables.

Just looking at your handbrake Dave with the chrome lever... looks very good..
Did you have the lever low in the tunnel for sva purposes or do you think it would be ok to have the handle higher nearer the hight of the
gearstick?
cheers

the mk2 cavalier handbrake lever is very similar to the mk3, just incase you happen upon one of them first, but has the adjustment on the rear beam.
should be easy enough to modify though
we should have a few of them if you get stuck. yours for postage if my dad has some spare.
