What are actual real world all up weights of the different kits with car and bike engines. Nice to see difference between cars, Striker lighter than MNR spec for spec, I have no idea?
My MNR was 525kg on the sva rollers. 2.0l zetec in it.
Zx12r Stuart Taylor 480kg with fuel.
GTS Panther 2.0ltr Duratec 647kg with fuel on IVA rollers.
Striker with 4 age road spec, 540kg measured at procomp
Good topic. If people are honest with data and trim this will be interesting.
NOTE ROAD CAR WEIGHTS
Haynes roadster. 2.0l turbo. Full cage, all fibreglass panels 660kg with full tank of fuel.
We could mix this up a bit and add driver weight
Fisher Fury spyder, full screen, CBR 919 engine, without fuel: 424 kg
Mk Indy r1 457kg with fuel road spec
My striker is 550kg in road trim windscreen etc Toyota 4age 1600 live axle full tank of fuel weigh at council depot weigh bridge

My Dutton B+ with a Dolomite sprint engine and overdrive, half a tank of fuel comes in at 670kg plus my lithe youthful (65) 90kg. equals slightly heavy
Well my MAC Certificate says Axle 1 430 kg and Axle 2 450kg, Gross Weight 850 kg so can I claim the prize for the heaviest Locost. That is with 1300 x flow and 4 speed box.
Very interesting results so far. Makes me wonder how light you could make an Mx5 and how it would compare.
Also very keen to see what the Bonito ends up at with the v8 and cage etc.

Is a good topic, but how much difference is there in the scales being used?
And different types etc.
For example I weighed my R1 Mac1 on a weigh bridge which said it was 550kg,which I thought was too heavy tbh.
So weighed myself on it and it said I was 100kg,where as our digital bathroom scales say I'm 90kg.
So if it's over weighed my car by 10kg per 90kg it would bring my car weight down to circa 500kg which I would guess was not far wrong.
MK Indy, CBR919, full cage, road spec - 460kg (550 with driver)
MAC#1 Type ZR with 1.8 Zetec, 580 Kg at local quarry weigh bridge.
Bog-standard Locost, 1660cc X-flow, with no great effort to save weight during the build - 600Kg at the local weighbridge.
Fury IRS 2.0 Zetec half a tank of fuel 620kg weighed at Procomp
MK Indy with 919 Blade engine, 450kg at SVA.
Luego Velocity - 4age 20v = 600kgs
Caterham R400 - K Series = 490kgs
Both over 400 bhp/ton
Striker, 1.6 16v 4age, full cage, live axle, full tank of fuel. 520kg at Northampton motorsport. 580kg with driver.
Haynes Roadster, Duratec, wet 575Kg
Locost 2.0 Blacktop ..no frills..
Axle 1 : 301
Axle 2 : 294
Gross : 595

Book dims car with Suzuki G13b, 462kg's with 20L fuel. Full cage and two seats. Silverstone scales.
Wide book car, Black Top zetec, type 9, full cage and tank of fuel, 565Kg's.
2L Duratec, Mx5 'box, and wide car, full cage ready to race, 560kg's.
That little Suzuki engine and box looks very light against most, now I see the numbers even compared to the bec's.
Cheers,
Nev.
My MNR R1 is 542kg with 20L fuel and me onboard
Sylva J15, 520Kg inc 20l fuel (IVA weight) 123hp 1.7 puma engine.
Boggo Locost, Zetec, type9, live axle etc.
570kgs
Turbo blade engine, fury tub on locost chassis weighs 590kg wet with me in it, I weigh just under 14stone these days which puts it almost dead on
500kg
Not sure where all the weight has come from
200bhp so 500bhp/ton

My Jedi is a whopping 287kg with fuel and fluids. r1 Yamaha on carbs.

My Sylva J15 came in at 500kgs on the IVA scales......that's with a 1.7 puma engine, and me being very careful with weight. We won't talk about the driver as power to weight goes from something comparable to a GT3 RS down to a corsa diesel!.
ST170 engine locost, Capri axle, no real attempt to save weight, 680kgs with driver and 1/2 fuel at corner weighing.
Regards Dan.
Haynes Roadster BMW 6cyl M52B28 - 632kg 'wet'.
Quite pleased with that considering the size of the engine. Got 51/49% Front/rear bias and only 0.5% side-side imbalance before touching the spring
platforms.
Only done using some cheap 200kg scales but it's given me an idea.
Haynes Roadster, 1.6 MX5 engine, 8 gallon tank, full, at IVA weighed 630kg
Apologies for resurrecting a thread, I found this on a search but wondered whether there were any more recent results. Any newer builders care to add their kerb weights?
I'll post here once I've had my IVA...just waiting for a date! Called them and they said around July
My Luego Velocity XT with 1.8 Zetec weighs 546kg.
Fury with screen and (heavy) doors 2.0zetec, ally bellhousing, ally type9, ally nose on english axle, titan diff, 20l fuel
610kg on PGM scales
if you want the corner weights
163.0 137.5
610
144.0 165
