Bar with Fwd stays
Can anyone see a problem with this rollbar arrangement with respect to an IVA test?
ATB Dan.
Driver and passengers heads are going to be awfully close to those forward braces - most of the one's I've seen tend to kick out to avoid
that problem. Like on the Sylva Riot
If the IVA inspector feels it requires a helmet to drive safely then there could be problems.
How does it sit with relation to heads, is your rollbar low or do you sit far forward to make the bar sit at shoulder height. Is vision obscured?
As to hitting it I cant see that being any different to person hitting their head on the A pillar of a small 5 door car. Radius requirements are met,
whilst it may not be ideal, I cant see what standard an inspector could apply to that to fail it other than the general: All aspects of the design
and construction of the vehicle must be such that no Immediate danger is caused or likely to be caused to any person in the vehicle or to other road
users. but id say thats unlikely
Not a IVA problem but I would pad it when driving
Padding was planned, I'm trying to make sure an Ex racecar could be IVA'd.
Regards Dan.
