I think these wishbone are seriously wrong.

Krismc - 30/4/11 at 11:13 AM

Whats wrong with them??

Thats not what im asking about, but fire away ive got a better pic if you want....

This is when i was building in 2006

and this is it at MNR - with engine and stuff in (all the weight)

If you worried about the rosejoints, they are all wound in showing a few mm of thread now and the bottom wishbones are level.

It bothers me that the tubes join so far away from the inboard rose joint, putting a bending load onto the tube

You have U2u

just because it came as a 'Kit' ...does not assure competence of design :-)
Caveat Emptor.. applies... for one's entire life

And they don't look all that ' aesthetically pleasing'.....

Why did the kit designer not cut the extra bits of tubes off, engineering wise don’t seem to serve a purpose?

Krismc - 4/5/11 at 06:49 PM

Not sure a precut lenght i suppose, plus it helps at IVA when the guy cant get his plunger in

b14wrc - 6/5/11 at 08:02 AM

True, hadnt thought of that. Mine wont look like that though.

Surely no manufacturer would sell a set of wishbones like those in the pictures, would they?

My local 'agricultural engineer' would make more elegantly.
