Sorry - I know this has been done to death a zillion times... What pop rivets should I get (I believe there are some "sealed " ones & various aircraft spec.... Is there a website that flogs 'em?
And is it worth spending 40 notes on the shaving mirror type gun (screwfix finest)

i have one of these and i'd reccomend it to everyone.
especially if you're riveting floor/panels on
*but* it can be a bit of a squeeze in places,
i removed a few of the links so it's shorter
and easier to use in tight places

Lazy tongues - and yes they are good if your zapping hundreds of rivets. For tight spots you can use the rivet pliers, but unless you have arnie arms pull them in small amount's, i.e open the handles just enough to get a good firm grip. One thing I would say is once you've finished riveting, watch out when holding a pint, just incase you squeeze too hard.

i bought mine from screwfix - 4.8mm x 10mm - no problem with them at all. aluminium rivets with zink plated steel shafts that break off nicely

i did approx 400 rivets in my floorpan using hand rivet gun - my hand wer quite tired and bruised after, but worth it

Screwfix rivets are a few quid for a big box and get yourself a £58 air riveter from Machine mart..save yourself having a right or left forearm like popeye..!!!

Yes, I'll second the recomendation for a hydraulic rivetter - I set over 500 rivets in 2 evenings, and it was the drilling that was most uncomfortable, I could rivet with one finger!

So plenty of votes for the fancy rivetter. Now where do I get those sealed pop rivets folk have posted about in the past - I fancy the idea of keeping road salt out of my chassis tubes!
