What would be a rough price do we reckon to get a chassis something like this bent up, without the welding.
Model A Chassis
Half made Asda shopping trolley
It's just a picture I had handy. I was thinking about all the bends involved.

Local bender charges £15 per mandrell bend on CDS tube.
He makes all sorts of stuff, jap truck rollbars and bumpers in stainless etc.
I cut up a few school chairs for my bends, except for the roll hoop.
So you're talking about £420 just for the bends let alone the cost of the steel! That's a bit more than I thought.
Things is, do you have cad files for it. If you do, then get in bent on a cnc machine, and it will be loads quicker, probably cheaper, especially if
you have more than one

A single bends will be more expensive than a quoted job, but it's never going to be cheap for one off jobs.

A hydraullic press is less than £400, then you can bend stuff for friends in exchange for beer tokens!
My understanding was that hydraulic presses either flattened the bend or put wrinkles in it?
Out of interest what are the implications of having wrinkles in the bend of the tube?
I'm guessing that it would be weakened slightly in that the material wouldn't stretch evenly throughout, rather strong and weak peaks, but
would this be of any considerable concern?
