What type of bolts have all you guys used to secure the wishbones at the chassis end?
I have been unable to find anyone who will make some custom shoulder bolts for me (only looked and contacted people on the bay as of yet).
I was thinking about getting some thin walled tube, cutting to right length and putting a standard bolt through with washers on either end.
hmm, was looking at your photos when you were asking about the steering arm hitting the wishbone. whats wrong with normal 1/2" or M12 bolts? what size are the holes in the wishbones? just normal bolts should do the trick i would think.
bolts are fine 8.8 tensile strength these have a portion of plain shank unthreaded,its sets that are threaded all the way down

) bolts are only threaded some of the way down, set screws are threaded the whole
way. get bolts, and you're sorted
they are usually just threaded at the last 1"

sooooo, if you use 2 bolts per wish bone, in the normal way, that should be fine for you i'd say. 8.8 grade is fine, but these days i'm
liking cap head bolts, which are almost all 12.8
I struggled to find any bolts, in the end popped down to the local agricultural suppliers, they have loads of odd ones for tractors etc.
Harper and Edes are on the road from Lewes to Uckfield/heathfield, I bet you go by them all the time, have a trawl through thier boxes.

Try your local aircraft repair facility, you want AN spec bolts. To measure length of shoulder required in inches then devide into 1/16" 5/16" dash 5, same for diameter 1/2' bolt dash 8, They also come with 1/2 depth nylocks for areas of little space. Overall length of bolt requires 3 threads showing after nut is tight. If you can't find them in the UK, Aircraft Spruce and Specialty in US, good prices and a great catalogue. P.S. Gets even for us Canucks buying half our stuff from the UK.

Are you using donor wishbones? If you're using anything designed for a 7 then the holes in the wishbone are designed to have a polybush put
through them not a bolt.
If using a shoulder bolt you'd need to be using a bearing, you can't just run a plain wishbone tube on one.
