Should be there.
Trueblue,
Wishbones are pretty simple to do. But don't do them before you've done the chassis. The wishbones are too 'mission critical'
to risk making before you've had the welding practice of making the chassis.
Just make a *decent* jig out of MDF and remember to get the castor correct on the top/front wishbones (it's wrong in The Book). If you're
using Cortina uprights I believe it's 22mm, if Sierra then it's 25mm but I'm only half remembering those figures.
Also, see the post by Bass on the following link:
http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=2080
it's a good idea and worked well for me.
As for PCD of Ford hubs- it's 108mm.
HTH,
James
EDIT: Changed PCD to avoid confusion- cheers Ned!

Got my first IAM observed run on the 3rd. Will see you une autre fois.
Why do car clubs have to meet on the first Sunday of the month? Both MR2DC and IAM (if you can call it a car club) do!
I've lived a life that's full.
I've traveled each and ev'ry highway.
But more, much more than this,
I did it side-ah-ways.

Will have to talk nicely to my IAM observer and see if we can re-arrange. (Yeah right!)

Hi James thanks for the pointers in making
the wishbones.
What prompted my question on the ford pcd was I compared my fiesta wheels;
13" with the escort back end , seemed to be no great shakes there.
However as I checked the holes in said wheel with front hubs that just happened to be sierra;they did not appear to be compatible.
Will bring my sierra hub to compare against a wheel just in case I've missed something.

My mk1 Escort back end and sierra front hubs have the same wheel bolt alignment. Cant imagine how yours are different ??

How can you say that Bob???! I'm shocked at you!
I mean, some 1983 13" 1.0 Fiesta steels will look effing brilliant!
Ditch 'em Steve!

Yes, most likely be the offset... Front wheel drive wheels are no good on a rear wheel drive car ! Get some Sierra wheels if you want to be really
cheap.. cough, sorry want to be really locost

I was trying to be really locost (TIGHT like scrooge) in using what i had.
however i will still bring the hubs along as
i am curious just to see if my sandblasting and painting has made any difference to the fit.
This is all getting rather exciting; maybe its another excuse to junk some other bits.
Clear garage approaching faster.!!!
Might even get around to having a play with the welder.
If i can start this side of xmas before there are other distractions.
See you all sinday, should be sunday
depends whats about.
