N.East Rollling road power run

Any N. East bods want a power run on MacDonald racing's rolling road? (Lanchester)

Pete has booked his Civic in for Saturday 29th Aug, 9-30.
Price for one car is £40, but if we can get six it drops to £30. At present there are three people showing interest. (2 to 5 cars, £35)

Macdonald racing

The local WSCC group have used this rolling road several times, and have found it gives reliable and repeatable figures.

I'm in, providing I can get the engine back together in time.

Not planning on taking the Westy at this stage. It's Pete wanting a base line for the Civic before he ups the power over winter. ..well that's the plan..

Andy

My new engine still isn't fitted, so I'm going to have to cry off I'm afraid.

Unless that makes the difference to numbers / costs, in which case I'll get back in the garage!

Mike

Get in the garage! No probs, I think there's only a couple of takers. We'll be there no matter what..

See you there 9.30 in the morning Andy. Running a bit rich at 1/4 throttle but should be ok for a run up.

Do they do ignition/bike carb tuning?

Many takers?

Steve

Think there'll be two of us. It's only a power run, no tweaking. You can ask about setting up your bike carbs, but I doubt if they'll do them. ... more a magnetos sort o' place.

The Civic was putting out about what we thought... 167bhp. (About 10 up on a standard 1.6 Vtec) It sort of fits in with what he's seeing on the race track. The 1.6 Fiesta cant have that much more can it...

Some pics:

167 bhp

Nerve jangling 8500rpm, my pinto ears cant stand it!

Coozer's machine straining on the rollers.

And last of all, I had to... Steve on the lookout for brake upgrades. Wonder if fourteen inch drums will fit the MNR.

And mine made 167 as well! Bit sooner than Petes tho...

I've put the video on YooHootube, click on my blog below if you want to see it

...maybe the rollers only go up to 167...
Pete's at the kart track now, utilising considerably less than 167bhp. He will be shattered by noon tomorow. (24hr kart race)

Hope he wakes up for the trackday at Croft on Monday!
