Locosters Alert!!!!! Silverstone parade lap
Locosters of the world....
It is ten years since the first locost race meeting and to celebrate this you are all invited to attend the race meeting due to be held on Saturday
August the 22 at Silverstone.
Admission is unfortunately £10.00 (PP) unless you are a 750 motor club member then you gain entry for half price.
At this early stage of planning we are looking to have a parade lap of as many locost including the current racers, a bar-B-Q (Not sure if free as
yet) held after the days racing which will include the locost race, Formula Vee, Road going bikes (RGB) and 4 races involving the tin tops (Stock
hatch, MR2's, Golfs and SR and GT.) This is all included in your admission price.
We have also been given the free use of the main grandstand.
So for a tenner you will get a days racing, the chance to stretch out in the glorious sunshine ( I have booked the sun in advance) a chat with the
racers and (hopefully) to drive round silverstone's hallowed tarmac.
As yet all this is to be finalised but I envisage a superb days entertainment.
Updates to follow.

I did a 'parade lap' at a 750mc event at Silverstone a few years ago - it was great fun
Loads of like-minded lunatics, plenty of access to the pits and race cars in the paddock and a chance to drive around the Silverstone track. A real
boys day out.
Though it wasn't the full Grand Prix track but a section called 'the National Circuit' I think.
Basically Silverstone Grand Prix track is massive and designed to be split into several smaller tracks of different layouts dependant upon the
racing.
Me @ Silverstone
ME in the 'Locosters' compound - it was VERY sunny and we had a great drive there.
Although there are loads of Speed Cameras in the roads around Silverstone. Can't think why

These parade laps are fun, but not supposed to be especially quick.
When I was racing in 2005 the 750mc did a similar thing and as an incentive to get his finger out I said to Tim that
he could do the parade if he had passed his driving test by then, guess what he passed on the Thursday and was lapping Silverstone on the Saturday.
Tim driving the car I used to own towards luffield.

Afterwards he had one of those "I just scared myself but it was fun" faces on. He later told me whilst trying to keep up with the racers
he had a massive rear wheel drive moment and only just kept it on the black stuff (shame the video had failed) .

Does it have to be an actual Locost, or do all 7's count?

Alas, I feel as it is the 10 year anniversary of Locosts the parade lap should reflect this...However, please, please, please come along and have a
great day out as all kit car builders have endured the same angst during their build and its always good to meet like minded petrol heads.
