Sierra Wheels

The Sierra wheels with the large holes could look pretty cool , I was going to use them but the offsets where wrong.

Also (contraversially) steel wheels are often lighter than (lightweight) alloy ones!!

Could be a good thread , put together a database of wheel weights............................

if halfshafts confuse you (they fit in the axle casing ) just think how bad it'll be if you ever start welding up the chassis, think fu1+2 guys

Ned.

The Sierra wheels have there main offset to the inside ,so on a book chassis with an Escort axle they will rub on the chassis without spacers.

Typical wider Escort mk2 wheels have the larger offset to the outside.

I know this 'cos I had a set off Sierra steel wheels on my car while I was building it........

'Pepper pots' also have the offset towards the axle and therefore rub on the trailing arms RS Alloys are correct tho !!

Have a feeling we might all get a bit moist actually- BBC Weather says it gonna rain.

Do we wanna go someplace else instead- like over the road?

Cheers,
James

Let's just say normal place unless it's raining- then over the road.

Box Hill will be open but I don't think we should change location now. There's too much possibility of people planning to come not checking here first.

Cheers,

James

Well I'm sure even a lazy fekker like you could cope with buying a burger in one place and then carrying it 50 feet to the other, but as it happens 'over the road' is a full-on, honest to God, cafe!

I've not been in to eat but stuck my head round the door once this time last year when looking for a meeting place for us- it seemed alright. I've no idea of price though.

I could even try and go up tomorrow if I get a chance to check it out again.

Cheers,

James
