Engine started :-)

Got engine started M52TU25 on modified MS42 ECU and absolutely ocer the moon. The engine idled ok but after giving it a rev it died, it threw up some fault codes (some expected as the faults relate to components no longer exist).

https://youtu.be/sMSArNFT5rA

Fault codes present after first run;
209 EWS -Message Error
11 Tank Pressure Sensor (EVAP System)
130 CAN Signal ASC -Timeout
35 Aux. Air Injection System Relay
131 CAN Signal Instrument Cluster -Timeout
132 CAN Signal Instrument Cluster -Timeout
125 Activation Electric Fan
0 - unknown

Hopefully none of these will effect the running of the engine as limp mode and EWS immobiliser has been deleted. Not sure why getting code 125 as engine cold?

Those error codes can all be ignored I think, although obv you may have difficulty with passing emissions without the air injection system. Try unplugging the MAF and seeing if that sorts out the stalling issue - if it does, you probably need to replace it.

The air injection system (quite substantial pump) only operates briefly from cold to reduce initial emissions, I presume the IVA test is taken when engine warm?

Ah right, didn't know that. In that case probably not an issue - IVA were quite happy to warm up the engine and basically help me get a pass on that point.

Craig, did you resolve your stalling issue. Mine does exactly the same!

Just preparing to run it again, cooling system now installed and sort-of! filled with water. Will be trying to fire it up in the next few weeks - i’ll report back. Think I had a bad vacuum leak which I have now plugged up so fingers crossed.
