Good and bad in a strange way. Didnt seem to be as many people as i remember 2 years ago. Not a lot new to see. Good news was that it was easy to get about and managed to see everything in the day.

Overall enjoyed it.

Saw an electric 7 for £25,000.

Ultima stand was the highlight. Quite fantastic.

OMEX seminar was good - pitched at basic level but still good.

Westfield slalom course excellent to watch.

makes me wish i had gone

why do i never say no to work??

I didnt take too many to be honest. Sorry about size - i reduced to 70% as well.

Loved the Mustang until i read how it was done. Basically sierra floor pan with roll cage added and mustang body glued on.

Ultimas are simply awesome.

Quite impressed by Omex stand. Some good displays and cars.

I need to find out how to learn to drive like the Westie test drivers - they put on a damn good show.

Lancis Stratos and GT40 owners areas were also a bit special.
Some gorgeous 250GTO's in italian section. Not sure about the MR2's - some nice ones in halls but dodgy rippled bodywork examples elsewhere.

I went along with my brother this year but didn't feel it was as busy as last year. I remember that Ultima turntable being mobbed last year so much that the turntable couldn't turn and there were people on the floor taking pictures of the bottom/insides on the MK stand. Didn't sem to be as many bargains to be had either.
That Mustang really is disappointing eh? There was a feature of it in one of the mags and I seem to recall it has big squishy Granada or Sierra leather seats in I know it has a Pinto in. Also if you look in front of the rear drivers side wheel underneath the sill exhaust pipe you can clearly see a shonky exhaust hanging underneath it! Just missing the final 1% that one.
I agree with the GT40's and the dodgy MR2's too. Was a good day out though and cost me about £100 in odds and sods, soon adds up!

Mr Grumpy / Darren

Do you know anything more about the Mustang. Can you buy the body work on it's own? Rather than use a Sierra floor plan, it might be nice to build a proper space frame with room enough for a proper V8 engine / drive train?

Cheers

Mike

Its in January's 2008 issue of CKC. Made by a company called Mill Auto Conversions of Preston 07970 974970. My mistake above as it's got a Rover V8 in, Cosworth back seat and Mercedes SLK front seats. It seems that they only do Sierra based and taken from the magazine "When you buy a Mustang replica from Mill (or an RS200 replica for that matter), the company won't let you chop up your donor car and weld on the new roll cage yourself. To ensure the engineering work is done properly, the most basic package is Stage 1 (£7900) which sees the roll cage, body and opening panels fitted to a donor car provided by the customer". So I'm guessing they won't just sell the panels.

Don't really get replicas of this sort.

Nearly 8 grand for the starter pack, so let's double that for a car to a spec worth having.

I'm seeing new model Mustangs for that sort of money, or less.
