North Colchester meet up?

Hi Folks

I've found a nice pub called the Thatchers Arms @ Mount Bures, Essex C08 5AT(01787 227460 - www.thatchersarms.co.uk) that's got a lovely car park, just waiting for a Kit Car meet, oh and the beer and food are good too.

So does anyone fancy meeting up one evening, now that the nights are getting longer and the weather is also good (just wait the rain will start now).

I propose Friday the 30th @ 6.30pm onwards ???

BTW: How did any place in Essex get called Mount Bures?! The place is as flat as a pancake!

Well this pubs on top of a small hill with a great view of the Colne valley.

Oh and I may be @ Gt Bentley on this coming Wednesday evening if the weather is good too. If anyone else fancies another run out. Plenty of bikes there too I suspect.

What's happening at Gt Bentley? Is it some sort of social gathering?

Might be worth a run out there, if I've got enough fuel in the tank...

It's more of i bike meet, there was loads last time i drove past

Yes Wednesdays @ Gt Bently is for Bikers mainly but there are a few kits up there from time to time, well a least 3 Velocity's.

Well, I was there, plus a few hundred bikes, and one other seven - a purple & silver Vortex. Where were you?

There was a police car there as well, handing out at least one ticket to a biker, and booking the owner of the hot-dog wagon... I guess this event must be a police magnet.

For anyone else who fancies going there - it starts early (around 6-ish, apparently) and everyone seemed to be leaving around 8-ish). I got there late - about 7:30 - and many people were leaving.

It was a very good ride out though; nice roads for sevens in that area.

bentley is a nice place to meet.
me(yellow +black/silver) and mick turned up(puprle +silver)
the boys in blue were out in force,

Careful with the place names! I live in Bentley - Suffolk. Essex has Great Bentley, which has the bike meet, and Little Bentley, which doesn't.

I shall try and get back to Gt Bentley sometime soon, but next time I'll get there earlier.

I met Mick, but he had to leave shortly after I arrived as his young lad was getting cold in the evening chill.

Not a good idea to speed in the surrounding lanes though...

Definitely a good venue - the route from home to there and back again is a whole load of good driving fun!

(mount bures - bures - nayland - stoke by nayland - capel st mary - bentley)

Loads of fast twisty roads along those roads!

One of the best meets I've been to! Gets a bit chilly at the top of the mountain when the sun goes down though brrrr.

Great to see everyone and I'm glad you thought that it was a good venue. Ride home was much better than the ride there as I had a clear road in front of me.
