Triton - 2/5/05 at 01:06 PM

Car of the show for me was the Z-cars Mini....until panic phone call from the kids had us tear arsing back home.....teenagers and cookers are a bad mix 'specially ones with hangovers and the munchies

theconrodkid - 2/5/05 at 02:00 PM

just got back, wonderfull weekend, plenty barbies and some nice sun, nice to see some of the old faces and finaly meet pete f and the mango mob,got a tad damp round oxford on the M40.
same again next time

JoelP - 2/5/05 at 03:21 PM

yup, i fancy camping too next year - would've been a laugh having a few beers and a barbie (maybe a BBQ too?!?!)

Shogun969 - 2/5/05 at 06:30 PM

Thumbs up from me brill show and weather, thought i would just get back home before rain ( WRONG ) going up the A5 it was snowing and hammering it down car was aquaplaning passenger seat like a swimming pool , car filthy, me soaked, ROLE on SUMMER.

DrEagle - 2/5/05 at 06:46 PM

My neck is very sunburnt!

Good show saturday was best but i brought money home

Shogun969 - 2/5/05 at 06:51 PM

Just another point that i would like to make, The Westfield Boys on Sun Night were having a bit of fun on the grass sliding a car around joined by a civic and a micra, along comes MR Security to put a halt to it, Yet they did NOTHING about the MINI Moto`s hammering round, the petrol powered skate boards, the young lads racing round on a Motorbike with no protective gear inc helmets, i saw 1 VERY close call with a MOTO and a car and the youth on the petrol skateboard came of on 1 corner, with a moto rider doing wheelies and he crashed and all the Westfield was doing was sliding round on grass ????

indykid - 2/5/05 at 07:00 PM

but skin doesn't damage tarmac, tyres damage grass.

still, i wish someone'd strung up those chavs on the minimotos.

tom

phelpsa - 2/5/05 at 07:03 PM

Also on sunday there was a Lancia Stratos replica zooming up and down by the MK area! Probably getting upto about 70mph!!

indykid - 2/5/05 at 07:14 PM

that blackjack zero aswell, but that thing did sound truly amazing

tom

Marcus - 2/5/05 at 07:59 PM

Great weekend, cheers to Bob, Conrod, Dan and Ned for loan of barbie (Q). Even Wife enjoyed herself. Got soaked on way home. Started raining as we hit Coventry, didn't stop till Newark! Sunny up till Doncaster, then heavens opened again, much to amusement of lady copper directing traffic!
Wish I'd fitted wipers, had to look round screen to see where I was going!

Marcus

sorrento205 - 2/5/05 at 09:20 PM

You obviously left before the huge downpour at about 2pm then....

Peteff - 2/5/05 at 11:14 PM

I came back on the M69 and M1 and got a sunburnt face on the way back Sunday. I thought I'd have a problem with the car but it's been o.k. since. Camping sounds like a good idea next time, must sort out a boot liner or something to hold beer, and a tent of course, nearly forgot.

indykid - 3/5/05 at 08:03 AM

who'd've thunk mk2 cavalier rear light clusters would have ever made it into the kit scene?

sad i know, but it amused me and my dad. we've got shed loads of them. anyone want a set?

both the standard guise, red one, and the high spec ones as fitted to the cdi and gli, as well as later lxs (chrome bit in middle) on the beige one.

bob - 3/5/05 at 09:43 AM

Great weekend and good to catch up and meet new faces, shame the MK's were out in the wilderness but as posted in MK section i'll work on that one.

Some MK ers had the right idea and parked on the locost area which is far bigger and in a much better position, maybe they would be kind enough to share

My one windscreen wiper served me well on the way home,me and conrod hit a bit of a downpour at oxford

Big thanks to mango for carrying the heavy bits for me as well as some good advice on the screen.

hopefully see a few more people ar totalkitcar live at Brands in september

theconrodkid - 3/5/05 at 04:27 PM

agree about the chavs annoying peeps, mrs shortie frightened them a bit then ned parked his disposable transport across the road to stop/slow them down,if enough complained to the site owners they would do something about it next year?

mangogrooveworkshop - 3/5/05 at 05:31 PM

This is Jonte from Sweden (With hat) and the mango next to the saltire macspeedy mk.

The motos were fun in the beginning but by the end they ran round in swarms and it was a tad wearing. One little t!t had tatoos no shirt and a death wish. We saw a larger gent fall off at the top end of the ground!!!!!!!!!!!!lol Rescued attachment avatar.jpg

I'd agree with the sentiments about the mini-motos and skateboards etc, but the 'bit-of-fun' on the grass (as previously mentioned f*cks the grass up) involved braindead w*nkers sitting on the bonnet of the Micra whilst sliding about, with the added excitement of a small child kicking a football about on the same piece of grass.

They could do with growing up a bit..........

Danozeman - 3/5/05 at 06:05 PM

Those mini motos were really annoying!!! I saw a t shirtless chav nearly hit a cobra. hahaha.. The luego area was a bit dead. No cars on it!!

Did GTS have a stand any where??

flak monkey - 3/5/05 at 06:11 PM

The GTS car was on the revotec stall in hall 1. I *think* i saw darren running around when we were going for lunch.

David

Peteff - 3/5/05 at 06:26 PM

I saw one mini bike jockey riding up and down the road with a kid sat on the tank at one point. They'll do something when someone gets injured and claims off the organisers for not telling them not to do it. The 20mph limit was a joke to them.

JoelP - 3/5/05 at 06:37 PM

ditto the minimoto fools, anyone know an email address for the organisers?

flak monkey - 3/5/05 at 06:40 PM

Yeah the minimotos were a tad annoying...

Then so were those people driving around in normal cars....you couldnt hear them coming!

David

phelpsa - 3/5/05 at 07:06 PM

I saw darren, he was there.

Adam

DrEagle - 3/5/05 at 08:20 PM

Loads of pics on...

Here

littlemaf - 3/5/05 at 09:10 PM

i would of loved to take my moto, but its difficult finding space for one on a kitcar rofl. i would of at least worn a helmet to

ned - 3/5/05 at 09:16 PM

so where are the pics of he wlm camping area? i know shortie, dan and conrod took piccies

yup i parked the 205 across the road where our campsite was t stop the mini motos from whizzing round, they just went on the grass the little ****s

mk club area was sadly badly placed, keep up the good work though bob

darren also had his wishbones/camber adjuster on the rally design stand if anyone else noticed?!

had a nice long chat with one of the guys on the mnr stand, very impressed with their new race chassis..

just managed to talk myself out of buying some hispec brakes whilst i was there too.

was a shame the luego stand in the hall was right at the back, seemed they got overlooked a little i thought..

Ned.

shortie - 5/5/05 at 07:20 AM

Had an excellent time although had to return home early as one of the kids was ill.

Really enjoyed meeting up and camping with the guys. I reckon we should all complain about the mini motos, the Mrs was pretty unhappy about it but it wasn't only kids, some people just have no brain when it comes to sensible driving. Paula scared one guy by yelling at him and he didn't come back and as already mentioned Ned parked across the road which help (Mrs was very impressed Ned!! )

I am now working on getting Paula to do the cooking for everyone next year!! and we were talking about getting a marquee so that we can all camp and BBQ and eat together like some of the clubs did. I've even got a 16 man tent so that people don't have to bring there own tents if it's easier.

Hopefully if we can get a better campingclub spot like where the Locosts were and also we can get a few more people to camp we can all just chip in a small amount of cash and Paula and I will sort foodbeer etc. and we can make it a really good meet.

What do others reckon?

Rich.

ned - 5/5/05 at 07:40 AM

Shortie,

Was such a shame you had to go early, hope the kids ok now? remember you said they were keeping her in for observation.

next year and catering sounds good! defo agree about getting a better area,, but sounds like bob is on the case

shortie - 5/5/05 at 07:48 AM

She's fine now mate, they kept her in until Tuesday just in case but now she's back to running around like a mad-thing!

I reckon next year I am going to get my parents to have them for the weekend and then Paula and I will have more time to chatsocialise.

Rich.

alan wheeldon - 6/5/05 at 02:28 PM

And one of the "rip me off kits"

Ferg - 6/5/05 at 04:07 PM

andyps - 6/5/05 at 04:24 PM

I'd have thought two cars either side of the track with a 1m high rope strung between them would have been a better move!

Followed by giving them a good kickin to the groin!
