Now we have a few cars on the road between us - how about a visit to one of the other groups for their club meet - Sunday, not a weekday evening
though.
I like the idea of a drive down the New Forest, any other thoughts? Maybe in August when we might actually get a bit of summer - and they're no
shows that month.
BTW - this is to give Hicost a long enough piece of road to get past me
i,m up for it,maybe scutter could be the orginiser as he frrequents both areas
shall we start booking seats in finished cars now then? new forest sounds best to get to roads wise, otherwise it's lots of motorway driving
which is poo in a 7.
Ned.
Oooooh yeah!
Another one here for the convoy!
fozzie
The 'New Forest Group' have there meet , 7.30 in the evening near Romsey, its about 80 miles for me but mainly motorway.
I was thinking we could all go and meet up.
Perhaps we could organise it to be on a Sunday and meet with them.
Kitlooney seems to do the organising.....
Sounds good to me
New forest will i need me tent
watch out for bears
Can i book a ride now ???
Jason
John, I think you'll find it's wild crazy horses in the NF, the bears are all in Poland
And Bob, you'll only need your tent if the car is still unreliable
As always you gent's are more than welcome, the Man who kinda runs things now is kitlooney1000.
There meeting this saturday night I'll bring it up then.
All the best Dan
yo dan,can you find a cafe type place for a sunday morning meet, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm lard
Hey jasper, the bitch hasnt let me down do far
She just makes some strange noisesbut then again thats what women do best
Roughly when are folk thinking about coming down?
Dan
How about mid-August????
sunday mornin' late brekky.
How about a pub with grub oh and a big car park
If you fancy coming down monday for the meeting, feel free. not to sure about the weather tho.
Know a few of the pubs in the area so finding one with a large car park isnt a problem.
Meeting is monday 12th around 7.30pm at the Malthouse in Timsbury, just outside Romsey. When you get to Romsey, look for signs for Stockbridge, The
Malthouse is around 4-5 miles outside Romsey.
Just Email me for a map
See you soon
Lew

Viewed the pub in question at the weekend. It now has extra parking facilities, ha, must have known we were coming.
Lew
I should be there, barring any major crises
Yup.
I'll be in lyndhurst or there abouts with mrs bob and mini me,should be able to make it up there as its not far.
Have we decided on a time ?
I'm presuming lunch
me too, about 1/2 mile from the outlaws
dan
Pub opens at 12.00. so anytime from then if it suits. see you all there
Right i'm sorted then,i'm on holiday but have a kind of special leave
I just have to buy mrs bob lunch and amuse the boy
So,whos going then ?
bit of a trek,looked at t map,looks like A3 then A31,or anyone know better
probably best John if don't fancy the M3,
Would suggest using the lower part of the M3 and the M27 as it saves hastle of coming the back road of winchester, then going up the A36.
Multimap has it at about 70 miles and 1 1/2hrs, via the A3 from Cobham.
All the Best Dan.
P.S. Any chance of someone picking me up on the way past the front door
[Edited on 3/8/04 by scutter]
Who is up for this trip to Salisbury?
Are there any convoy possibilities?
any idea of a meeting point for wlm and a route?prefer to avoid M3 cos i tend to nod off on motorwayzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
You could meet up near Newlands with this route ,looks like it goes across the Hogs back to Farnham etc, 79 miles from my hoose.
or m25 ,m3 ,m27 , faster but 96 miles, how many cars are ther in the Salisbury area to meet up with 1 ? 2? 10?.............
Rescued attachment route.png
Superb
I'm camping just below that A35 sign, well not literally but if i spend much more time in the garage i might be.
See you there
k newlands it is then, what time?
Give me a call for a weather report
A3 is boring, do as much of the route on the A272 as you can - superb road :-)
Edit: will join a convoy as you go past / south of Winchester if you let me know what sort of time you'll be there...
[Edited on 8/8/04 by matt_claydon]
Matt - i dont think the route shown uses the A3.
John Rod - If the pub opens at 12pm do you think leaving Newlands at 10am should give us enough time barring breakdowns
2 hours should be ok,you got a navigator?
05.52 ! John you need some Nytol
Sorry, my mistake! What I meant to say was the A33 (mostly dual carriageway) is dull compared to the 272. I would suggest A3 to Petersfield
then A272 to Winchester. You could cut out the motorway by taking the A3090, but it will be slower.
Matt.
you'll have to ask Lew(kitlooney100) how many cars are coming , as he now organises things down there.
ATB Dan.
Matt,
the a281 from guildford, then 2133 down towards billingshurst then the 272 across through petworth, midghurst etc etc. either that or the a3 to
milford then the a286/7 then 272..
Ned.

Could meet the WLM in Bllinghurst if we sort out a time....
hahhahhahha - wrote Blinghurst instead of Billingshurst - could be quite appropriate though with all the flash cars down there!!!
[Edited on 9/8/04 by Jasper]
blinghurst is a bit out of the way for moi,i recon about 20 miles of the A3 from guilford then A272 is my best route
So who can I get a lift with? can meet down your way if there's a seat available Jasper?! if not anyone else, pretty please?!
Ned.
Are we hoping for a decent weather window ,or is this going to be a kamikaze mission, how committed are you the great screenless !!!
My father-in-law is in hospital, so I've got to play it by ear a bit.
A for the weather, it's meant to be getting better at the weekend.
Ned, can't give you a definite yet, if Fred is better, the wife will be coming with me, if he's still in hospital, you can have a ride, if
he's bad I won't be going.
I'll let you know nearer the time......
Thanks Jasper. Hope Fred gets better either way. If there's a lift I'll come along if not I think i'll stay at home and save up the
brownie points
Ned.
if its chucking it down ill take alfie the tin top for a ride
maybe 5 of the local cars turning up, not sure how many between WLM group, seems about 7/8. Have also emailed other local 7 groups to see if there is
any interest. Should make for an interesting afternoon.
See you Sunday
hi all, i'm up 4 it at salisbury on sunday. 'scutter' seems to be the only one coming from oxford way. where can i meet up with anyone
coming through the A34 or the M4/M3. what time and where.
all depending on weather i assume.
steve
somewhere, where the A34 and the A272 meet or the begining of the A3090 maybe??
If its chucking it down , i'll sit on my butt and watch the Hungarian grand prix.......
John - Are we going to meet at 10am?
Can I access the cafe directly from the A3 just south of the M25 intersection?
Dave,
You can only get to the cafe from the m25->a3 southbound sliproad.
Ned.
dave meet at the cafe then(subject to weather)at 10,steve o,spoke to matt about meeting on the A272 near winchester but havnt heard back from him, hope
weather gets better.
maybee we should wait till sat evening to make a final decision as to weather to go or not,ill be at an elvis party so leave me some hate mail
btw its only 2 weeks till donny so assuming we will all be camping it up there its not such a big deal if it gets rained off
Conrod and the WLM,
When the A272 meets the A31, turn right and after a couple of hundred yards you get to a big r/about. There is a pub on this called the Percy Hobbs
(straight across), which I would suggest as a good meeting place. Will then drive across the outskirts of Winchester to the A3090 and then down to
Nomansland.
Oxford people,
You could easily meet us at the same location, or alternatively if you come off the M3 at J11 and turn right under the m/way towards Winchester and
the A3090, up the hill, right at a small r/about, you will find a large layby with a burger van where we could meet. Alternatively again, find a
layby/petrol station anywhere on the A3090 and join us as we drive past ;-)
Cheers,
Matt.
BTW - weathers looking very good for the weekend.
He wont be there Conrod he's dead!!!!!!
Steve O, I'll already be down at the outlaws who live near the pub but i look forward to meeting you all there.
btw have just spoke to the met man on base, he says sunny with patchy cloud on sunday on the south coast, If he's wrong I can get him on
Monday.
ATB Dan.
dave, sorry mate but he works at my local chippy, saw him last night
mat,see ya at percys then,we are leaving at about 10 from M25/A3 junction so should be with you around 11ish
[Edited on 13/8/04 by theconrodkid]
I'll leave campsite near christchurch around 10.30/11 in the tin top,see you all there
turns out that the lamb is fully booked for food, but if we still meet up there and wait for the stragglers to turn up, the go to one not so far away called the walter tyrell. nice pub, and nice little drive through the forest to get to it. food no problem there.
My man on the front line tells me there are roadworks on the road I was going to take to the A3090, so we'll have to cruise through town instead.
Should be no problem on a Sunday and a few Sevens going past will give the shoppers something to get excited about ;-) Still meet at Percy's at
about 11...
See you tomorrow,
Matt.
Sorry chaps - got to go to the hospital tomorrow with the wife to see the father-in-law , as he's not good (nothing long lasting or nasty
though).
Have a great day......
[Edited on 14/8/04 by Jasper]
Sorry to hear that Jasper. Have fun all...
Ned.
i know its late but , you can get a lift if you are at the A3 in 50 mins time!!!
To every one who braved the elements today. I hope everyone got home safely. Will get up to your neck of the woods next time. But you are always
welcome down this way.
Lew
