NeilP - 2/4/09 at 08:39 PM

I have the day off - The sun WILL be shining - It's light till after 8pm and I will be there with the toy!...

I'd better get the passenger seat back in then and finish the carpetting

MikeR - 2/4/09 at 08:43 PM

I should be there .... i can bore you with stories of my progress

twybrow - 2/4/09 at 09:06 PM

smart51 - 3/4/09 at 07:45 AM

I'll be there, maybe even in the car.

YQUSTA - 3/4/09 at 09:20 AM

I will try to come to this 1 as i'm not on call.

the weather isn't looking good so it will probably be in the tin top.

Tim if I do come do you want me to pick you up on the way through?

Ian

twybrow - 3/4/09 at 09:26 AM

Ian,

I think it would a long way out of your way to pick me up! I am guessing you will be going straight up the M5, where as I have to cut cross-country....

YQUSTA - 3/4/09 at 09:43 AM

it makes no difference to me I live north Cheltenham so I could do Evesham then up the A435 takes about the same time as the motorway.

twybrow - 3/4/09 at 01:39 PM

Thanks Ian - I may yet take you up on your kind offer (especially if you decide to take the 7!).

vindicator - 3/4/09 at 03:56 PM

Can anyone turn up or it is a proper members club.....

Not saying that I will turn up as my younger son goes swimming between 9 -10pm....and I work over by the airport anyway.....nice trip home but a bit late......

we will see....

TimR

MikeR - 3/4/09 at 05:10 PM

I sure others will confirm but i believe you have to be a member (*) to turn up.

(*) of the human race .... although I think we're not very discriminatory even if you're not.

prawnabie - 3/4/09 at 05:28 PM

Yes I will be there in my car this time!!

Tim

Just turn up, it will be good to see you - find the big noisy group in the bar, shout for one of us by name and you'll be very welcome.

Shaun,

I hope Mads can join us. Perhaps he'll respond.

If you fancy a drive over the weekend somewhere between Bromsgrove and Leaminton let me know and I'll join you.

Colin and I had a fantastic day at Harewood hillclimb driving school yesterday. Highly recommended, really! Remind us to tell you about it when we meet.

Dave

Dave is the May meet on bank holiday monday? I would quite like to discuss an day trip of some kind if they are any people in the group not tied up doing family things.

I may pop over to your neck of the woods on sunday, I need to spray my roll bar on saturday!

Glad you had a good time hillclimbing, I take it you managed to save your AP clutch plate with the pepsi?

Shaun

Hope to see you on Sunday, I'll call you or you give me a call.

Yes, our May meet is usually on Bank holiday Monday. Note that it's also the last day of the Stoneleigh kitcar show, the first being the sunday.

Edit to say don't get me wrong, I'm not planning to go to the stoneleigh show and would be up for a day trip.

prawnabie - 3/4/09 at 11:05 PM

Sounds like quite a crowd gathering here! There goes your seat by the fire dave, we will all be outside at this rate!!

mads - 4/4/09 at 01:17 PM

Hey folks,
Just picked up this thread (thanks Dave) as been away where there was no mobile phone signal, let alone broadband.

I'm definitely up for it and I do fit the membership criteria, though only by proxy (other half is human)

Will be on the bike, weather permitting, so be nice to go for a short blast maybe too.

prawnabie - 4/4/09 at 01:39 PM

Where abouts are you in worcs mads?

mads - 4/4/09 at 04:20 PM

sort of Droitwich way

prawnabie - 5/4/09 at 12:23 PM

Cool, I live in bromsgrove!

mads - 5/4/09 at 01:56 PM

wow, pretty close then. What sort of time you planning to get to the pub? And what route? I'e never been so wouldn't mind meeting up and following if thats OK? Will have a pillion so wouldnt be booting it.

prawnabie - 5/4/09 at 05:16 PM

Mads I try to get there about 7:30, dave will be there eating his tea just before then!

Basically I pass through astonfields, tunn left under the bypass and through tutnall. Then straight over the crossing and follow the road all the way into alvechurch.

Go straight though the middle of the "square" in alvechurch and follow the radford road, passing under the M42, untill you get into Weatheroak Hill - the pub is on the left.

If you want to meet up somewhere thats not a prob - I will be in my locost or if it rains my fiesta.

Thanks

Shaun

Dave Ashurst - 6/4/09 at 01:59 PM

Will it rain??

vindicator - 6/4/09 at 02:31 PM

I don't think it will, as the forecast this morning was rain tonight and heavy rain for the next 3 days.

Having looked at it now and the first bit of rain is Wednesday morning and another bit of Thursday.

YQUSTA - 6/4/09 at 02:48 PM

Rain @ 19:00

Met office

vindicator - 6/4/09 at 02:57 PM

Just phone SWMBO and i've been let off tonight (not taking my son swimming!!), so I'll be able to pop in on my way home.....I'll be in the Vindi.....

mads - 6/4/09 at 09:58 PM

was good meeting you all and finally putting some faces to names. apologies to those who I didnt introduce myself to, it was a bit daunting to start talking to people who all knew each other. hopefully next time i will get to know you all a bit more.

looking forward to the next meet up!

twybrow - 6/4/09 at 10:20 PM

mads - i know just what you mean. That was my 2nd meet, and gradually, the faces are becoming more familair. They all speak the same language though - Locost!!!

Great to see you all tonight - it was quite a turn out!

See you at the next one....!

YQUSTA - 7/4/09 at 07:00 AM

Was a good night last night.

Glad I came along and nice too meet you all, I will never remember all your names but will be along again when ever i'm not on call.

JAG - 7/4/09 at 08:22 AM

It was only a flying visit but it was great to meet everyone.

So many people and so little time

vindicator - 7/4/09 at 08:36 AM

I was the quiet one in the corner......well it was my first time......really enjoyed the night....

Had a very slow drive back home in the wet......

TimR

Dave Ashurst - 7/4/09 at 11:50 AM

Great to see everyone, excellent company!

S Brum next regular meeting will be on the evening of Mayday bank holiday Monday, the last day of the Stoneleigh show.

That's usually a popular one - so put it in your diaries.

Hopefully the weather will be good (it usually is) and we can spill out into the garden.

Remember to contact Colin and Shaun offline if you expressed interest in the trips they are planning on 25 Apr and Mayday respectively. I guess Colin and Shaun will contact you anyway.

If in doubt contact me.

best
Dave

omega0684 - 7/4/09 at 01:12 PM

oh i didn't know that we we comtinuing on from this post, i had locostbuilders on all night last night whilst i was watching tv waiting for an after meet post, lol

it was good to meet some new faces, tim and mads and there were a couple there that i didnt get to meet either so i hope to see you all at stoneliegh and after for a beer.

i would recommend the Waterman just outside warwick towards hatton for after stoneliegh drinks, has some fantastic views from the garden.

see you all soon

clairetoo - 7/4/09 at 03:34 PM

It was nice to put faces to names - a good night out (till it rained , and my wipers gave up about a mile down the road )
A quick fiddle with the fuse's sorted it - then on the M42 , about 5 miles of the overhead signs claiming 2 lanes closed with nothing on the road and 40 mph limit ? ?

MikeR - 7/4/09 at 05:25 PM

I had a great night ...... nice to see only one BEC'er sorry about the mickey taking, at least your misses knows she's be pushing now
(glad to see you took it in good spirits and got your own back with the hydrogen fuel cell jibe for my slowcost)

At least this time on the M42 I didn't have a lorry ignore the 20mph sign and almost smash me up the rear. I think a combination of my quick hazzard lights and him swerving into the right (fast) lane averted a hospital dash. I did have to put up with parking on the M6 as they put it down to one lane

prawnabie - 7/4/09 at 05:27 PM

Yes was a good night!

I didnt get too wet on the way home, but the puddle in my seat was very uncomfortable!

dave-69isit - 7/4/09 at 08:00 PM

you wont be mickey taking when I'm pulling donuts outside your garage and hitting revs of 9000rpm!! =op (and you're still in your garage building your solar-powered kitcar!)

As for the missus pushing the car... after hearing about Vindicator's missus driving his kitcar, I think she has other ideas and will be wanting to be the main driver!!

prawnabie - 7/4/09 at 09:22 PM

My mrs won't even touch my car! I think the mistake was her seeing the bare chassis without anything attached to it!

vindicator - 7/4/09 at 10:20 PM

and she reads these posts as well.....let me introduce Carol (her in doors)

Just a quick pic showing her about to go out on the track and before someone says 'does she dress up like that once on the road!!' the answer is noooo....This was before we got the windowscreen put on. The passenger was my sons girlfriend (now replaced!!)
