Mondays
After snapping my gear cable yesterday (Sunday) I really thought I was going to miss today's trackday at Middlesbrough.
http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=67095
But thanks to ebay providing a spec and a photo, I managed to get a replacement cable at 7.30am this morning!
Turns out that inboard motors on powerboats use the same style of cable as we do! And our local yacht chandler opens at 7.30am during the summer!
Had to do a bit of modification as the replacement cable doesn't have the bulkhead fittings the MNR one had. But at £16 each I can get a spare
or four for the cost of the MNR one (£64.63).
But all sorted by 11.00am and off to 'Boro. By the time they re-opened the track after lunch there were just 20 cars left in the paddock and by
3.30pm I had the place to myself
Teesside May 05
Monday's, love 'em or hate 'em.
Cheers

No video footage I'm afraid.
Would be grateful if you could send me the details of your cable guy.
Teesside was hired again by the NE7ER's as part of the Caterham's May Tour (Mischief on the Moors).
They'd been touring the North East all weekend and had booked the track today to finish off the tour.

Was it that place on the coast road A1058, with the wooden planks covering the outside on the slip road?
Mentioned to my wife the other week I wanted to pop in and see what they had.
Anyway, ingenious fix, well done Mike.

Cheers Geoff!
Scott, that's the place. It's like the tardis, looks pretty small from the outside, but is masssssssivvvvveeeee inside.
Loads of cool things, some more useful for cars than others! Fuel gauge £20 etc etc.
And the owner has a Westfield
Cheers
