Mallory Park. AAAAAAGH!
I'm going to Mallory Park tomorrow for my first track day. Does anyone know the circuit? What things should I look out for / try to do / try
not to do?
It doesn't look like a hard circuit but any intel would be welcome.

Did my first ever track day there 3 months ago. Its a fairly simple circuit - although i found the hairpin challenging (uphill braking, narrowing
track width and a tyre wall on the edge of the circuit). Never done a track day, but even so, the pro's were really opening up big gaps around
there.
Oh - if it rains (hopefully not) look out for a river of water running across the track at Devil's elbow.

The weather is looking just right
Surely up hill braking is easier than down hill or level - gravity is on your side.

Try to remember it's not a race and take it easy at first. Get to know the circuit and gradually build your speed. You'll have great fun
for sure and by the end of the day you'll be flying past most of the cars there.
Wish I was going.......

Hi on the entrance to gerrards there is a bit of a hump or bump about 1/4 of the way in from the out side if wet just watch the back end coming round
as it unsettles the car at just the wrong moment.
Oh and take some pain killers with you as it can be quite painfull smiling from ear to ear all day .

7 laps into my track afternoon my gearshift cable snapped leaving me in 3rd gear. I tried to fix it, with help from someone's dad but to no
avail. The on-site shop had a similar cable but the ends were too long and so I couldn't make it fit.
10.1 miles, 10.1 minutes, £6.90 per mile or £9.85 per lap. I wouldn't have minded it breaking with 10 minutes to go but not 10 minutes in.
It's quite a nice circuit though. Not as big as I'd thought and not quite as fast but fun. I was only getting just over 100 before
braking for gerrards, though I was braking too early and I bottled it, sticking to 80 on the exit because the far edge of the track is blind over a
slight crest.
I'd definatly go again. I want to go again now. And the weather was nice.

shame about the cable, it happens, I spent a whole weekend at Cadwell only for a drive shaft too fail 1/2 way round the 1st lap, doh.
"not as fast as you thought"
Too put the very short time you had on track into perspective the RGB lap average speed is a touch under 100mph so you can see how fast the iccle
buggers are if you compare your just over 100 before braking for the fastest corner on the circuit..........

ive done 5 trackdays so far, and its broke every single time! Fortunatly, always towards the end of the day...
elvington, fuel pump
rockingham, hose exploded
cadwell, engine died (end of the xflow)
teeside1, popped a hose
teeside2, snapped the gearlever.
not a bad record really!

Hi as jon says it is one of the fastest circuits in the country and altho some people say any one can drive quick there i personly love the place as
once you have got a well set car under you you should be able to drive virtully flatt all round except for a lift goining into gerards and another
lift and a dab at the esses and braking for the hairpin.
Still at least you have got cadwell and oulton to look foward to at some point.
