Race down edinburgh airport runway

Just recieved this email

Edinburgh Airport is currently gearing up for RACE THE RUNWAY 2010, the unique driving challenge where participants can race on runway in a fully operational international airport.

1st July 2010 will see 96 high-performance vehicles hitting speeds of up to 200mph in 6 separate competitions along our 1800m secondary runway, transforming it into the longest straight drag in Scotland.

Edinburgh Airport will remain live and fully operational at all times during the event. Race drivers will be able to wave to our passengers as aircraft taxi out behind them to the likes of Marrakech, New York and Barcelona.

Race the Runway 2010 is our major annual charity fundraiser and we’d really like you to join us and be part of it.

Last year’s event involved 48 cars racing and raised £16,000 for the Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice in Glasgow and Edinburgh’s St Columba’s Hospice.

Our roll call of fantastic vehicles included - a Ford Mustang GT, Nissan Skyline GTR , a Caparo T1 and an Ultima GTR which hit the top recorded speed of 177mph.

For RACE THE RUNWAY 2010, we’re going bolder, bigger and better and really stepping up to the challenge to raise £50K for Charity.
