Silverstone track day yesturday
Hi All
Did silverstone track day yesturday in the new chassis mk indy spec R,
Car was awsome didnt miss a beat, credit to builder paul fisher,
All we did all day is kick the tryes and refill with fuel,
lots of people there messing around with there cars all day trying to get them to handle better etc and this thing was one of the fastest cars around
the track all day,
new chassis is so much better and with the full roll cage just gives you that little extra confidence to push harder,
Track was excellent 60 cars there all manner of exoctic stuff nice to beat lambo and all other manner of fast cars,
nice and wide and good fun and challenging,
Would like to get a video machine for the next track day any recommendations from all welcome,
one picture attached of car,
Oh and the turbo will have to be fitted to the car as runs out of puff on the long straghts against the big powerfull cars,
looking forward to the next day out ,
Must say also circuit days the people who organised the day, made it safe and enjoyable for all,

May I suggest that you invest in some over the wheel ratchet straps to attach your pride and joy to the trailer!

Hi
Running a zx10r engine,
Car was pail fishers originally,
Featured in kit car mag and mk sportscars info packs,
runs very nice just lack the top end power but upto 110 its very quick, out of the corners left all cars in its wake but the big m3 new ones and
porches would catch up by near end of the long straights,
looking forward to the nexr outing
Straps work fine but may invest in some tyre straps????

Good to here the cars running well Sean,and your having fun in it,great track the Silverstone gp circuit,suits the big power cars,so it sounds like
you did well to keep them behind you

Saw you there!
Just put up another thread.
We were mucking about in the orange "tecserv" liveried caterham racer.
Was a good day, though too much traffic on track a lot of the time.
not so much of a problem for a slowie like me but the car's owner/racer Graham was lapping most of the field every couple of laps and got fed up
with being held up, but I think he's a bit of a showoff!!

PS there was one very quick saloon there, did you come up against that rough looking silver Pug 205??
That was mega quick. Later found it was running an ex-306 2.0 16v engine with Rotrex blower.
PS our messing around wasn't sorting handling, each driver swap meant a change of foam seat, and I had a rather tired front disc break up on me
(they had done two meetings and we normally change them every two meetings), plus we flat spotted two tyres right through the steel thanks to stupidly
slow Elise drivers

Hi Agree sometimes too much traffic,
Was that the silver pug that broke and got towed off???
Also a very quick red nova seemed to be going well??
Yes saw you there car looked very quick,
Whats under the bonnet on it,??
Our first track day in that car so getting used to it but always good to go home safe and no problems, fast or slow dosnt matter,
There was a bit of a twat in 2 m3 beammers, blue and a white one, he lost it more times than i could count held it but had to take evasive action to
avoid him,
Yep saw the elises doing a bit of grass mowing too Hee hee
Still good day just a little cold,

Yea it was a touch chilly!!!
Yep, complete pr**k in the new white M3, clocked him early on!!
The blue older M3 appeared ok to me but I never ended up near it on track.
Yep, the silver pug did break, the gear linkage fell off it and took them ages to bolt it back on as it was a touch fiddly to get at. Very quick when
it was running though.
Your car sounded very nice and crisp.
The caterham has a duratec in it, 2.0, 220hp.

Car run nice all day,
Your car was very quick could see that,
we could get upto 122mph on pitlane straight before stamping the breaks for the blind rugh hander,
what was you doing out of interest,???
See you had some mods to the front of the car to keep engine warmer,
Good stuff gaffer tape when needing to keep air out,
did you get the car sorted by the end of the day??

Hi again, yep, gaffer tape as the car runs no thermostat, after a while we found 3 strips kept it bang on 70 deg C!!
We use tape on the early races of the season too!
interesting on the top speeds, I think our logger showed 135mph before turn in to copse, not sure though, I seem to recall pulling sixth gear just
before the bridge, Luffield was in third, and I was definitely just pulling fifth through the latter 3rd of Woodcote, the scary bit at the start of
the pit straight, where you have to hug the right hand side to let the car gradually wash out to the pit wall side as you come onto the
straight...............that is definitely the only worrying bit of the track for me as there's no runoff and in fifth you know you're
going a bit!!
