There is a strange yellowish line around the edge of all my tyres and i am just curious what it is caused by.

Mud? Presumably it gets wiped off the actual tyre surface?

It's not just the dust that the tyres have picked up, having got hot with scrubbing, the warm temperature, etc., is it..? Just that it looks more sand-coloured to me (or may just be my monitor).

It might be mould release from when the tyres were made. Get some foam tyre cleaner from Wilko or some boot polish.

Don't know what it is but my fronts are the same, maybe it something to do with scuffing whilst cornering.

I got that on my last car, i put it down to using tyre silk (that spray stuff to make em shiny) after the silk had gone they looked like that. Could be completely wrong tho

I'd say mould release agent leaching out of the tyres where they get warm in use and isnt scrubbed of by the road

My mate got it on his tyres following a bit of hard trackday abuse - I think it's to do with the heat through the tyres

looks like a mix of tyre black and muck/dirt.
some decent wheel/tyre cleaner or in my case aviation fuel
will bring it up then add some decent tyre black and it will look like new again

I do use turtlewax tyre stuff on them so it must be that. Cheers guys

Its caused by Heat from driving.

It is some of the chemicals from the rubber coming out to the surface as a result of the tyre being plyable, and being worked when you drive. If the tyres didnt have any oil or chemicals still in them, they dry out and crack.

This is why they tyre fitters tell you to take it easy with new tyres, because they need to be scrubbed in to get rid of the surface oils on the tyre. Same with bikes.
